Bank Of England raises interest rates for a 12th time...

The Bank of England has raised the bank base rate for a 12th consecutive time. The MPC (Monetary Policy Committee) agreed to raise the base lending rate to 4.5%.


Higher levels of inflation and increasing wages were hot on the agenda. The next arranged meeting is set for June 22.



The last time the base rate was at 4.5% was 15 years ago in October 2008.
